The RIA is a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to celebrate cultural diversity and provide opportunities for multicultural education and exchange. What we do:

Rochester World Festival: Allow us take you around the world from China to Latin America, India to Uzbekistan, and all in one weekend. Volunteers from many different cultures in our community take part in every World Festival. Learn more on how to be a volunteer for the next World Festival and other RIA sponsored activities and events by contacting us.

The second Wednesday of the month from September through May, at 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. we have the International Speakers Luncheon at the Family Y. A speaker will present about his/her country, culture, international topics and whatever else has an international connection. A luncheon is served ($9 for RIA and Y members; $10 for others). Reservations are necessary by calling Betsy at 507-289-3359 by the Monday before the luncheon. RIA’s International Student Scholarships: RIA donates money to support the RCTC Foundation for two tuition scholarships awarded to returning international students from this area. International students at RCTC should apply in fall for the scholarship at RCTC .

Ethnic dinners and programs: Ethnic dinners and programs are popular with RIA members and the entire community. They are an opportunity to raise funds for groups and RIA. Please call if your group has an event they wish to invite the community to attend.

Frequently we have requests to get in contact with people of certain backgrounds. We bring you in contact with schools, the media and civic organizations that are interested in your country/culture. If you are available to share and would like to be available for requests, please contact us. We would not share your contact, but give you the request to respond to it as you wish.
